There’s something eerily enchanting about the morning fog rolling in and blanketing the city before dawn, while everyone cozied up in their beds. Living in the suburbs for most of my life, I sometimes forget how the face of Toronto looks like. I forget to look up and see how we’ve progressed physically and culturally. Think about how many condos have gone up in the last decade, how the waterfront has dramatically changed, the number of new restaurants popping up all over the city, and how the culture itself is shifting. This view reminds me that we’re all working towards new growth and prospects, big or small. Remember when we were only known for the CN Tower and the Sky Dome? Now we have the Pan Am games happening, Porter Airport, Friday Night Live at the ROM, an incredible selection of eateries, OVO fest and Drake.
Let’s not forget how lovely Toronto looks when it’s sunny too. But let’s just keep it emo about this, shall we? OK, one more time.
If you squint and look from faraway, it might just look like a mini burgeoning Hong Kong/New York. But maybe just take the early morning construction down a notch, plz?
Keep it up, Toronto!
